Highlights from this year was not just the dancing. We threw in music this year. In the Pasifika Proud Dance Programme in School's, participants got to learn an Anthem translated into 9 Pacific Languages composed for them to sing and unite their cultures as one. A selected few from each school was given the opportunity to perform it alongside the writers and composers on stage for the Pasifika Festival by Kalia.

Fua Creative is all about the growth from the seed to the fruit. What a moment this was to hear the young voices in a vision and to now hearing it in real life!

Thank you once again to the Blenheim School's and Kalia for supporting the Pasifika Proud Programme in School's since it was just a seed 8 years ago.

Song: Anthem of the Pacific (Chant/Prayer)
Created and composed by Vita Vaka & Nastassia Wolfgramm

Thank you to our translators who helped us with this adaptation in 9 Pacific languages (Beulah Leitupo, Peifaga Fuiono, Malcolm Andrews, Mal Lakatani, Herman Aviu, Lucianne Phyllis, Sally Sakalia, Rotuma Wesleyan Church New Zealand, John Taukave)

Students on stage:
Redwoodtown School
St Mary's School, Blenheim
Bohally Intermediate School

Mayfield School

Wrap it up! We are relieved to get some time to rest! Was extremely full on, from the scripting to the stage in 1 month! The result of a hardworking team who put their all in to this project as a tribute to our hard working grandfather's, father's, brothers and uncles out there! We salute you.

The Heart of a Father production team Nicole, Nastassia & Vita would like to thank the following for believing and bringing this project's vision to life, from the interviews to the scripting then to the stage show. We honor you and your time.

Ngā mihi nui ki a koe to our partner in Murihiku - Miharo Murihiku this project ('The Heart of a Father' - Niu Dawn Raids Initiative) wouldn't have been possible without your amazing mahi and kaimahi. We created a show, but you filled the theatre and that's a result of your authentic vision and connection with your community.

Thank you for trusting in our vision and believing that we would bring something valuable to your community. We are glad we made you proud and that this mahi could tautoko the amazing Arts and Culture work you are already doing in Murihiku.

We left Invercargill feeling very inspired and motivated to continue our work, and we are so excited for future collaborations!
