THE BEST LITTLE WH🌸REHOUSE IN TEXAS (1982) *Dolly Parton Tribute: Saturday 12 Sept 6pm - Based on the musical by the same title, Dolly Parton and Burt Reynolds at the height of their fame try to save the Chicken Ranch, a small brothel in Texas that’s become the heart of their small town. Featuring Charles Durning as the governor of Texas and Dom DeLuise as a TV reporter hellbent on shutting down the ranch for good in a timeless tale of good-time partiers going toe-to-toe with some notorious sticks in the mud. The musical numbers are plentiful and lively, the chemistry between Parton and Reynolds palpable, and the whole thing is good clean/dirty fun. Rest in power dear Dolly 💕

TIMES SQUARE (1980) *Tim Curry* Tribute: Thursday 10 September 7:30pm - A perfect snapshot of teen rebellion and friendship between outsiders with a backdrop of Times Square as the seediest playground on Earth. With a classic soundtrack of punk and new wave, TIMES SQUARE has become a favorite of “sleez sisters” everywhere. There is a beautifully special bond between Pam and Nicki as they run amok in New York City, guided by the voice of the INCREDIBLE *Tim Curry* ❤️ The two don trash bags and bandit masks, form a punk band, smash TVs, and experience a smidgeon of being free in a world that is actively trying to stomp out their personalities.

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA (1962): Sunday 6 Sept 2pm *Fathers Day - A timeless cinema classic, director David Lean’s seminal, Academy Award-winning 1962 film was truly intended to be seen on the big screen, with its lush cinematography, timeless story, and Peter O’Toole’s larger-than-life performance as the academic-come-desert warrior.

This sweeping epic is based on the true story of T.E. Lawrence, a young British army officer whose recon mission in the Arabian desert turned into an all-out heroic struggle to unite the scattered, warring desert tribes against the encroaching Turkish forces during World War I. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA is an expertly crafted portrait of clashing cultures, and of a man driven to the brink of madness by conflicting loyalties and his own unquenchable ambition.

DIVA (1981): Thursday 3 September 7:30pm - When an opera-obsessed young man grabs the wrong audio-cassette, he finds himself on a full throttle chase to the heights of cinematic beauty. From director Jean-Jacques (BETTY) Beineix borrowed the formal innovations of the French avant-garde—Godard’s colors and conflicting tones, Rivette’snd ecstasy of cinema—DIVA is a pure pulp visual extravaganza.

‘It’s a glittering toy of a movie by a director who understands the pleasures to be had from a picture that doesn’t take itself very seriously. Every shot seems designed to delight the audience,’ glowed Pauline Kael.”

“For his first feature, Jean-Jacques Beineix borrowed the formal innovations of the French avant-garde—Godard’s colors and conflicting tones, Rivette’s screwball thriller plotting—for a work of unalloyed entertainment, which was such a sharp commercial idea it’s a wonder no one had thought of it before.” — Dave Kehr, Chicago Reader
