“Dad made me, but drama saved me.”

Previewing tomorrow, Sons of Vao is a deeply personal story, inspired by the life of writer and co-director Vela Manusaute. He describes this work as a process of making peace with himself and with his father.

Vela is now a father of three (Hector pictured) and he has spoken about his determination not to repeat the violence he grew up with: “I wanted to break the cycle.”

Through theatre, he has found a way to face the past, turn pain into art and open new doors to healing. Come along to this powerful play.
