Split stitch is basically just back stitch's textured cousin. You bring your needle up through the middle of the previous stitch, splitting it in half, and keep going. The result? A neat little braided line that's perfect for outlines, lettering and stems. 🪡

Don't worry if your first few stitches look wonky - they'll even out as you go. Progress over perfection, always!
