I have been working with line and pattern on and off since the 80s. In this latest series on board, "Sing to my Soul", I combine NZ flora & fauna with a combination of pattern inspired by Maori & Pacific cultures. I was very privileged to go to a school with an amazing Art Dept.
It was the first school in NZ to bring in Life Models. I remember this session well as the model was a yoga teacher and had a beautiful supple way of holding herself.

Image from my "Imperfect" series of charcoal drawings that I have been working on for years 🤪 I always seem to come back to charcoal. I love the subtlety of line and the boldness of Chiaroscuro that charcoal achieves.
