Beneath the Canopy is a celebration of the life and beauty found around Wairere Falls, New Zealand, where native forest, flowing water, and birdlife come together.
Within the print four much-loved New Zealand bird species each tell their own story. Piwakawaka (fantails) dance and flit beside the stream, bringing a sense of movement and playfulness to the scene. High above, a tūī takes flight through the canopy, while a kererū quietly hides amongst the bush, waiting to be discovered. Near the water, a kingfisher watches patiently, carefully scanning the stream for its next catch.
