Sooo it was just as well we didn’t plan a festival for this year with the current state of global and national lockdowns. Cancelling last year due to weather was hard enough but having to do it two years in a row would have been a shocker.

What this lockdown has taught us is how we really do need each other to enrich all our lives with our skills and gifts, friendship, social interaction and connections, culture and community. Because let’s be honest, having to be stuck in our bubble indefinitely hugely restricts our ability to have meaningful connections and experiences and sense of community with our friends workmates and extended family.

A Music and Lifestyle Event is just one of the ways we can experience much of the above in a unique way, which is why we’re looking forward to bringing people together again once this virus is kicked into touch.

Feedback request:

What would you like to see and experience at the next Jazz wine & food festival that would encourage you to come out to Clevedon?

If you’ve been before, what would you like done better?

Band requests?

Food requests?

Wine/Beer brand requests?

Sponsorship Request:
If you would like to sponsor the next event, we would love to hear from you. Please direct message us.

Thanks!
Anthony

Thankyou to all the community volunteers who helped setup then pack-up the festival site yesterday. Especially to Jared Ambrose, Andrew Fisher, Shane Watkin, Phil Needham, Paul Toilalo, Nick McKaw, Carl Shadbolt, the Clevedon scouts and parents, and Natalie Holmes.

Thanks also to the musicians who were lined up to play, for all their hard work preparing for their gig. I know first hand how much effort it takes to get the band ready for an event like this. Namely Brian Smith, Phil Broadhurst, Jess Hix, Jason Herbert and their band members.

Thankyou to the sponsors, vendors and wineries who offered their products. That also involves so much time, preparation and cost. Namely John Hill Estate, Britomart Hospitality Group, Independant Liquor, RedBull Organics, Piper-Heidsieck (Hancocks), Hey Presto Catering, The Rolling Pin, The Coffee Guy, Mastrovich Wines, Spin Spuds, Kai Kart, Clevedon Strawberries and Sweet Solutions,

Thankyou to Stephen Johnstone and his team from Active Audio and Lighting. That was a big effort setting up and packing down in the rain, and Eddie and JJ & team from Let’s Celebrate Party Hire.

Thankyou to all the support from the Clevedon Community, local papers, and community groups, Kiwiprint, Logoprint, extended family and friends. And a big thanks to Auckland Polo Club for preparing such beautiful grounds, especially Mark Fitzpatrick and the committee.

Finally thankyou to my family and for putting up with an obsessed father and husband in organising an event I have been passionate about for many reasons...to bring families and community together, to share and enjoy really good music, to enjoy food and drinks together in a beautiful outdoor natural environment, and to support local community groups. This is the stuff memories are made of and builds a culture....a few of the many reasons why it is so emotionally harrowing to call off the event due to the one day in 2-3mths of hot dry weather where we get an inch of rain in 6 hrs with lightening risk that wasn’t even forecast the day before. Given the electrical storm we saw before Christmas and the rapid deterioration of the weather which occurred on the 9th, we couldn’t risk anyone being hurt or worse with speaker towers potentially acting as lightening rods into soggy ground.

Thankyou to all supporters and those who purchased tickets ahead of time.
Thankyou to Eventfinda for being awesome.

I’m sorry to all those who are disappointed, and none more upset than me.

I apologise if I’ve missed anyone out; everyone involved is hugely appreciated! A massive thankyou to all!

Kind Regards
Anthony Hunt

With an extremely heavy heart I have to inform you that due to a sudden change in weather now and forecast the 2019 Clevedon Jazz Wine & Food Festival is cancelled. A storm cell is due to hit at 1pm and with the ground already soggy and risk of forecast lightening at 1pm we cannot risk the safety of any person. So sorry to all! We were looking forward to a fantastic day!
