EFKS HARD!🙏🏽

Grew up in the EFKS Invercargill church. It is more than just a church to me, it’s where I grew up, where I learnt my faith, where I found community and where so many of my childhood memories were made.

“O Le Tafatolu” hits different because the ‘ Tafatolu’ represents that foundation of interconnectedness. For me it reminds me of the three things that have always shaped who I am. God, my family and my church community. Each one has played a part in raising me, guiding me and keeping me grounded in who I am and where I come from.

From being a young boy growing up in EFKS Invercargill to now being able to look back and see how much those foundations have influenced my life… I’ll always be proud of where I come from.

EFKS HARD. ❤️‍🔥

Was on a wee walk (hence the attire, this was very a out of the blue choreo) with my songs on random shuffle and came across this beautiful song. It was released 3 years ago but today was the first time I’d ever heard it.

Thought I’d add a wee choreo of my own to Verse 1 and just let the song do the rest. 🤎

Song: Puni - Lou Alofa Ou Te Ola Ai
DC: Yours Truly x

This verse speaks of a Love that never seems to grow tired, like the waves that keep breaking. A Love that has you constantly looking, feeling deeply and reaching a point where the feelings are too much to even explain. And through it all, there’s that longing to not be forgotten, especially after everything that was shared.

This one is for those who are feeling this type of alofa right now. As for me, I’ll continue to wait for the day I can actually relate. 😂

Song: Pei O Auma - Puni
DC: Yours truly!

The Lord is my light 🤍

A reminder that no matter what comes my way, I know where my strength comes from. When things feel uncertain, when fear tries to creep in or when I don’t know what’s ahead, God remains my light and my salvation.

“Faatali mo le Atua. Ia e faamalosi, ia faamalosi lou agaga.”

Wait for the Lord. Be strong. Let your spirit be strengthened.

Sometimes all we can do is trust Him, stay strong and keep going. His timing is not always our timing, but He has never stopped being our light.

So I’ll continue to wait on God, trust in Him and remind myself that I have nothing to fear when He is with me. 🤍

Living in the diaspora has taught me that sometimes you have to leave home to truly understand what home means.

“E lele le toloa ae ma’au i le vai.”

The toloa may fly far, crossing oceans and travelling beyond the place it once called home, but it will always return to the waters that raised it.

And I think that is what it means to live away from Samoa. We may grow up in different countries, build lives across different shores and find ourselves thousands of miles away from where our story began, but there is something within us that will always remember.

To every Samoan living away from home, wherever you are in this world, never let distance make you forget who you are. Never be ashamed of the accent in your voice, the language you speak, the traditions you carry or the culture that shaped you.

You are proof that Samoa travelled beyond its shores.

I may live in Aotearoa, but Samoa lives in me. In my words. In my values. In my identity. In the way I carry myself. And in every step I take towards the future.

So fly. Go far. Chase every dream God has placed within you. Cross every ocean you need to cross.

But never forget the waters you came from.

Samoa e maopopo mai. 🇼🇸🤍

To my sisters across the Pacific, near or far, related or not, this one is for you. 🌺

A humble dedication and reminder that whatever journey life takes you on, do not grow weary when difficulties arise. As you sail through the vast and sometimes treacherous seas of life, may you continue to walk with God in every path you take.

May you never forget the tears, sacrifices and prayers of the mothers who came before you and may their love remind you of the strength you carry within you. Show compassion, lead with kindness, set aside your comfort when you need to and persevere even when the journey feels long. Keep going until you reach your destination.

From a pacific brother, this is my reminder to you- youare valued, you are capable and you are never walking alone. May God guide you, protect you and give you strength every step of the way. 🤍

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25 🙏🏽
