He started Ballroom and Latin at the age of 5, competing and placing first at the age of 7 in junior ballroom. From then he took up many musical instruments including guitar, bass, drums, the list goes on. At age 9 he found the art of vocals and continued building his music knowledge featuring in a number of shows/stage performances and CDs over the following years. At the age of 13 Paul attended
The Corelli School of the Arts to further his musical and dramatic learning and also took up Ballroom and Latin once more. Around the same time he started Rueda (a fun Cuban style of Salsa). He also founded his DJ/Entertainment business in these early to mid teen years. Paul has spent his later teenage life offering his knowledge to schools and organisations, training a primary school band, helping them record their first album and working on sets for school plays as sound/lighting engineer and trainer. He spent a total of 4 years in Wellington as a resident DJ and Host in 3 bars. Along with this he also helped run an online radio station that he had part shares in. Paul then made his way back up to the City of Sails and started with a Bachatango/Salsa performance team at Viva Dance. From there he took up a number of other teams in Salsa, Bachata and Zouk. He also has been accompanied his mother Raewyn with teaching beginners/improvers Ballroom and Latin classes at Viva Dance, along with various other Ballroom, Salsa and Bachata classes including a recent contract with Massey High School. Paul believes that the art of music is the key to a happy healthy life. He loves the fact he can share his knowledge and relay his happiness onto others.
