AX AX visits the Aotearoa Art Fair ❌❌
What a thrill to see hoards of people queuing to engage with visual art and artists!
Alongside its commercial aspect, the art fair is a much-needed annual opportunity to catch up with friends in the arts community - this is super important as artists often work independently. Ideas are exchanged, projects hatch, support given and aspirations affirmed.
We were thrilled to see so many artists we work with showing intelligent, quality works across the respective programmes throughout Tāmaki Makaurau. It’s on all weekend with plenty of satellite events at galleries around town too. JP 💜💜

Back in the studio this week after a period of mothering and flu recovery ❤️‍🩹
Here is a snapshot of the work in progress for my August solo in Tāmaki Makaurau - photographic studies that capture the essence of my process.
Materiality will be a big part of the exhibition, has always been really.
I play with contrasting textures, tones, colours to achieve an idiosyncratic balance - the work reveals itself through play, placement. I’m always searching for an ideal composition on my terms - it’s a constant exploration of interconnections and the tension between them.
