Today is the DAY! 🤩

Closing NZ Music Month off in style, the 2026 are on TONIGHT at The Civic in Tāmaki Makaurau. 🏆

History will be made tonight at the 61st AMAs. Of the many defining moments tonight, Aotearoa music legend and national treasure will be inducted into Te Whare Taonga Puoro o Aotearoa | New Zealand Music Hall of Fame. 🌟

Check out a very special message from Che at The Civic, celebrating Te Marama Puoro o Aotearoa! Before he takes The Civic stage tonight with the Kratez, he’s sharing a few of his favourite memories at the iconic venue, in honour of Our Sounds, Our Spaces. 🫶

Wherever you may be in the motu, join us in watching a celebration of Aotearoa music and milestones via the livestream from 7pm. 🥳

As promised, today we have our final THREE Schools Kura Competition Winners! 🤩

A massive congratulations to our final winning schools: for their string ensemble performance of 's ‘Six Months in a Leaky Boat’; for their Year 12 Band Roots 7’s delightful original at Smokefreerockquest; and for their Year 10 music class performance of ’ ‘Why Does Love Do This To Me’! 🎶

We’d like to thank all our tauira and kaiako across the motu who sent through their amazing performances of NZ music, we could not be prouder of the new generation of musical talent. 🌟

Aaand another huge thank you to long-time NZ Music Month supporter Harvey Norman for their generous support towards music education in Aotearoa schools. 🫶
