National Youth Theatre

National Youth Theatre Started in 2005 , the National Youth Theatre is New Zealand's premiere youth theatre training company Our programmes change lives.

A registered Charity, the National Youth Theatre offers young people aged 7-21 the opportunity to participate in ongoing performing arts training through workshops, courses and holiday programmes. We are the resident youth theatre at Auckland Live, performing at the Aotea Centre twice yearly as the culmination of our regular training programmes. Within an inclusive and supportive atmosphere, our p

rofessional theatre mentors provide unique opportunities for young performers to be part of a major theatrical production whilst inspiring them to have fun, build confidence, and excel. Through our Outreach programme, we not only provide full scholarships for a large number of deserving students to join the cast, but we also reach new audiences by presenting four schools’ performances and partnering with deserving schools to fully fund their attendance at those shows. Whilst some will be inspired to pursue a career in the theatre, every child will benefit from an experience which enables them to confidently take the stage and happily interact with their peers whilst developing the skills for well-rounded lives.

Calling all male performers aged 13 - 18 in Ōtautahi Christchurch!

We have a limited number of full scholarships available to our Disney's Little Mermaid Jr programme - leading up to performances at the amazing Isaac Theatre Royal in August!

These scholarships cover all costs of the programme. They are designed to increase our gender diversity by bringing more young men into the performing arts.

CALLING YOUNG SOUTH AUCKLAND PERFORMERS!

Last chance for your child to join National Youth Theatre's production of GREASE YOUNG@PART. This is a specially crafted YOUTH edition of Grease, with all the songs we know and love, and a script rewritten for young audiences. No audition needed, we teach them everything they need to know. Performances at Due Drop Events Centre August 13 - 16.

Come along and meet the team and give it a go at our open rehearsal THIS WEEKEND at Everglade School in Manukau:

Junior (7-10yrs) - 1:45pm - 3:15pm
