Torbay Theatre has been delivering terrific amateur theatre to the Torbay community for 60 years.

We ended the year with a small private concert introducing our new choir, directed by Dragan Atanasov. The choir will be meeting to sing on Monday evenings next year. More information later ... and then the Wednesday Working Bee members sadly cleared the decorations away.

Here's the new Torbay Theatre Choir in their first appearance at our clubnight last night. We were treated to a varied programme of music, poems and readings. Thanks, as always, to our accompanist Iona McDonald who also played some Bach on the viola. The choir's organiser, Dragan Atanasov invites more members to join the choir which will perform a concert on 13 December at 7:30pm. For more info contact [email protected]

Reminder: our last Club Night of the year is this evening at 7:30pm, in the Gate Theatre. We're offering a varied programme, as usual, and there's room for more if you feel the urge to get onstage.
Please bring your own drinks; juice and nibbles provided. The 'entry fee' for all is a gold coin donation.

Red, white and blue! There are only three more performances of this wonderful send-up by Gilbert and Sullivan of old-style English patriotism on board ship. Come and enjoy the first-rate singing, colourful costumes, and a clever set bedecked with Union Jacks and bunting.

Here at Torbay Theatre we pride ourselves on the high quality of the voices in our musicals, and HMS Pinafore is no exception.

Soprano June Dams (Josephine) holds a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Waikato. She has sung roles from Carlotta to Carmen, and recently played Maria in The Sound of Music.

Wilson Wang (Ralph Rackstraw) has sung in several previous shows at Torbay Theatre. He studied in China, and with Gina Sanders and Auckland Opera Studio in NZ. Wilson shares his joy of music as a registered Early Childhood Teacher and a Kid’s Entertainer.
