The exhibition opening for ‘A Void, Now Filled’ last week! Thank you to all the lovely folks who came along to have a look and help me celebrate. It was so nice seeing everyone crouching and bending down to get a closer look at my floor-based pieces, it reminded me of what I do when I visit the beach 🌊🪨

The exhibition is on until this Thursday 21 August at so if you haven’t seen it yet, pop in to check it out!

I’ve been busy making in my residency studio at Auckland Studio Potters for the past few months. I have loved the chance to experiment with new directions in my creative practice and to be part of the wonderful community.

During my time there I have been exploring texture, making impressions of objects pressed into soft clay, both natural found materials as well as nature-weathered human-made items. I used objects from various places, the ones pictured are volcanic rocks onsite at Auckland Studio Potters, and chunks of detritus e.g. concrete from Karaka Bay Beach that were collected for my exhibition earlier in the year, In the Company of Water.
