Are you familiar with how wonderful Kelly Moran is?
If you like Nils Frahm, Björk and FKA Twigs, you SHOULD love Kelly Moran.

The New York composer, pianist and Warp Records artist has spent years pushing the piano into completely new territory, blurring classical composition, experimental electronics and avant-garde sound design into something entirely her own. She's collaborated and toured with Oneohtrix Point Never and FKA Twigs, and Pitchfork called her work "making the piano sound like nothing you've ever heard before."

Catch Kelly Moran with support from MOTTE. Tonight, Wednesday, 17 June at Kāhui St David's.

CAT POWER
THE GREATEST. ON TOUR.
Brought to you by Banished Music, Strange News, and Love Police.

This November, the one-and-only Cat Power returns to Aotearoa for the first time since 2014 for two very special shows. Thursday 26th November at Auckland’s Bruce Mason Centre, and Friday 27th November at Wellington’s Opera House, Cat Power will be performing her seminal album The Greatest in full, alongside songs spanning one of the most singular songbooks of the last three decades.

Twenty years on, Cat Power’s Memphis soul stirrer The Greatest is still one of the most astounding records ever to be heard, a late-night classic that still feels as intimate two decades after it first blew our minds and broke our hearts.

Support for these shows will be Canterbury’s finest, Lawrence Arabia, performing an intimate solo set. Expect to hear some old favourites and new treats from his forthcoming album.

Presale: 9am, Wednesday 17 June

TOMORROW NIGHT! Still wondering who the heck Cass McCombs is?
Think somewhere between Lou Reed, Big Thief, Wilco and John Lennon.

For over two decades Cass McCombs has quietly built one of the most respected catalogues in indie folk and rock, earning praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Mojo and pretty much every musician your favourite musician listens to. Jawdroppingly beautiful and rip-roaringly deadpan all at once.

Catch Cass McCombs with Holly Arrowsmith tomorrow night at Double Whammy as part of Strange Universe Winter.

Fresh from a sold out Christchurch show, Georgia Knight heads to Wellington tonight and Auckland tomorrow with her full live band.

It’s been a big week too, with Georgia just picking up nominations for two Australian indie awards, adding even more buzz around an artist already having a huge year.

If the Christchurch show was anything to go by, these are going to be pretty special. Intimate, immersive, cinematic, and impossible to look away from.

John Maus descended on Aotearoa last week and delivered contortions, screeches, synth-drenched catharsis and a church organ encore that nearly ascended the room. We got Rights for G**s, Cop Killer and I Hate Antichrist back to back from a man who gives everything to a room! These shows will sit with us for a while.

Epic photos as ever: 📸
