New Zealand Music Theatre Company was established by two young artist’s who identified the need for a more developed and focused Music Theatre and Cabaret industry in New Zealand. Founded in 2017, New Zealand Music Theatre Company exists to nurture and develop professional Music Theatre product and practice. New Zealand Music Theatre Company’s vision is to be New Zealand’s leading Music Theatre provider.

Last week we were due to head into a week-long development on a new musical by Kiwi writters Adam Spedding and Brayden Jeffrey with generous support from Creative New Zealand, however, due to COVID-19 we were unable to proceed.

Our June 2019 'Music Theatre Unleashed' event as part of the Auckland Live Cabaret Season saw us make the commitment to programme 100% New Zealand music theatre content.

We were proud to present works by many Kiwi composers, which included Jessie Leov and Marley Richards, with two songs from their in-development musical "Take Back The Universe". Performed by Jonathan Martin, Jane Leonard & Renaye Tamati. Accompanied by Mark Bradley on Piano + Band.
