So stoked to know you Madusha, and have pulled off the first of many projects together.

1200 people through to have the largest interactive art exhibition in NZ in a time where people weren't really leaving their house. It would've been like 120 without you. 😂

Love you bro. Happy 26th. Keep up 😉

Nick Mowbray

Co-founder and Director of ZURU Toys and ZURU Edge, EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018

From a farm in Tokoroa, Nick left to China when he was 18. Living on a dollar a day - literally, he went on to build ZURU Toys. They are now the 6th largest toy company in the world, which employees 8500 staff across 23 offices around the world.

Shape: Bunch O Balloons is one of ZURU Toy’s most iconic toys. They generated upwards of $100 million a year, bringing delight to kids all around the world. There are 35 balloons represented, as per the toy.

Material: Yellow gloss acrylic. The yellow is so clearly ZURU. We wanted the material to be representative of the main material used within ZURU’s toys, whilst paying homage to their bright persona.

Charity: All the profits from the auction of Nick’s artwork will be going towards Crohn's and Colitis NZ.

To be in the draw to win this smaller artwork, visit the exhibition, take a picture with their Symbolically Kiwi Symbol or those of others in the exhibition, and post it to Instagram or Facebook. Use the hashtag and tag in the photo to go in the draw. The winner will be announced on September 28!

Symbolically Kiwi by MrGeometric is a free interactive exhibition showing that those who achieve success on the world stage are fundamentally no different from other Kiwis. I hope the exhibition inspires those who see it to dare to dream and to reach their dreams.

The exhibition is held at Silo 6, Silo Park, and will run each day from 9am to 9pm until September 27. Click the link to register: https://urlgeni.us/facebook/symbolicallykiwi

Joseph Parker OM

Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion

Joseph Parker was proudly born and raised in South Auckland. He’s shown that, against all odds, we can rise up and achieve fantastic success on the world stage. Having to stumble and find his path with little direction in the beginning, Joseph hopes to make this journey easier for others going forward.

Shape: Joseph’s shape is an amalgamation of the WBO Heavyweight Title logo, and the necklace he wears around his neck. The square shapes represent a boxing ring, and we wanted to capture and display Joseph’s Samoan heritage.

Material: Red leather. Joseph’s material represents the red leather you would find on his boxing gloves, and on the ropes of the boxing ring.

Charity: All the proceeds from the auction of Joseph’s artwork will be going towards The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand.

To be in the draw to win the smaller artwork, visit the exhibition, take a picture with their Symbolically Kiwi Symbol or those of others in the exhibition, and post it to Instagram or Facebook. Use the hashtag and tag Mr Geometric in the photo to go in the draw. The winner will be announced on September 28!

Jess Bourke, JessB
Rapper and Rising Star

JessB had wanted to be a professional netballer her whole life. She reached her goal, but found it didn’t fulfill her as much as she would have hoped. Jess made the difficult decision to switch to a career as a rapper - where she’s finding enormous success and enjoyment.

Shape: JessB’s first EP was called “Bloom”, and sunflower imagery was everywhere. I wanted to capture this beautiful sunflower shape and all the meaning of “blooming” behind it.

Material: What material can represent musicians more than Vinyl EPs? We had to hand punch each individual circle out of Vinyl EPs and inlay them in her art. Get up close to see the texture, and how it shimmers in the light at various angles.

Charity: All the profits from the auction of JessB’s artwork will be going towards Rainbow Youth.

The shape is made out of white acrylic, clear acrylic, and nuts and holds. The acrylic represents materials you might find around the lab, such as safety goggles. The nuts and bolts represent her engineering background - which she still uses to this day.

This little princess said that was her favourite, because she's a dancer as well, and that she's beautiful. She posed with Kirsten's shape and said she wanted to be like Kirsten when she's older.

This is what is about. Inspiring the next generation and showing them that they can achieve their widest dreams!

Kirsten Dodgen was told by her school teachers to stop pursuing dance and to focus on more traditional career paths offered through school.

However, this did not slow her down and she remained dedicated to making her dreams a reality. The incredible passion and love Kirsten has for dance meant she remained obsessed with improving and becoming the best at what she does. Kirsten was at the dance studio and practicing almost every single day throughout her childhood.

And it paid off - At just 13 years old, Kirsten became a world champion dancer by winning the junior division at the Hip Hop International world championships. She did this as a part of the junior team ‘Bubblegum’.

A few years later, when Kirsten was 16 years old, she would appear in the music video for “Sorry” and “What Do You Mean”, catapulting herself and to worldwide recognition as one of the best dance crews in the world.

Since then, Kirsten has had lead roles in music videos from some of the biggest stars in the world, such as , , and to name a few.

Kirsten has established herself as one of the best dancers in the world and I’m excited to showcase her story as one of our Symbolically Kiwis.

In Kirsten’s own words - “Everyone has a spark in them and if this is what you want to do, you need to put your all into it and forget about what other people have to say, ‘cause you never know how far you’ll go!”

Experience the inspirational story of and many other incredible kiwis at Symbolically Kiwi! It’s on now at Silo 6, Silo Park from 9am to 9pm until the 27th of September.
