Four years ago I had this exhibition at The Depot in Devonport. It was the last show there to occupy the whole gallery before the change over to new curators/owners. It was a show of small works from my Enter series as well as photographic works of Devonport accompanied by my poetry that arose from those photos. I have to say that it was one of my favourite exhibitions. Thanks to Linda Blincko and Lynn Lawton for appreciating my work from my very first group show at The Depot in 2006. From that show they offered me a solo show at Satellite Gallery and my exhibiting history continued from then. I am so grateful to them both - it now looks as though I will now continue exhibiting at their new gallery Satellite 2. With the closure of my 250 Gallery and temporarily not being able to use my studio, this is a lovely reminder of what was...and what might come next.... including a solo show at Railway Street Studios next year.

Although 250 Gallery has now closed, the memories remain. Among all the visitors over the two years that the gallery was "popped up" the animals were always welcome - even the local cat. Tina has created a book of all the excellent exhibitions over the time of the gallery, including some images of these beautiful animal visitors. If you are interested in purchasing a copy or are interested in any of the artists (or animal visitors!) do message her. It's a great memento of a small gallery that made a difference along Ponsonby Road.

The next exhibition at 250 Gallery is 'Untragic Endings' - an exhibition by two artists, Bonco and Helene Bizouerne, exploring Allan de Botton's notion of finality "It is ending because it has succeeded.
Rather than breaking up with feelings of hurt, bitterness, regret and guilt, we're parting with a sense of mutual gratitude and joint accomplishment."
This exhibition is very aptly titled as it is the final show at the gallery which like all pop-ups has to end.
From humble beginnings filling a space made vacant for just six months, the gallery has grown with experience and confidence to the professional looking, successful gallery of today. The six months has turned into two years. Thanks to all who have supported the gallery with their visits, purchases and their ongoing encouragement. A huge thanks to all my guest artists who have improved the gallery with their suggestions, improvements and wonderful exhibition works. Finally I am indebted to the owners, my dear friends, the Harvey family for their generosity in opening the space to me in exchange for giving it a scrub/clean and paint! So do come along to our opening on Wednesday 21st and celebrate this excellent exhibition, and the end of an era!
