🇳🇿 Playco is proud to be backing John Hood! 🇳🇿

We’re excited to announce that Playco Playgrounds is the Principal Sponsor of John Hood as he heads to Japan to compete in the upcoming Pan Pacific Masters Touch Championship.

John will be pulling on the black singlet and representing New Zealand in the Men’s 45s team — an awesome achievement and one we’re incredibly proud to support.

From John:
"I’ve been proud to call the Riverhead community home since January 2022, and one of the things I’ve enjoyed most is getting involved, meeting people and giving back through sport and youth development.

Sport has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve played touch rugby since I was seven, and that passion has continued through coaching and helping others discover the enjoyment, friendships and confidence that sport can bring.

Since moving to Riverhead, I’ve coached football with East Coast Rangers, working with 4–6-year-olds, and have also coached local touch across both the adult and youth competitions, including the 7–8-year-old age group.

Outside of sport, I work as a Youth Development Specialist in the NZDF. Supporting young people who may be facing challenges to build confidence, develop skills, find meaningful employment and reconnect positively with their communities.

For me, it’s all about people, connection and giving young people the opportunity to realise their potential. Whether that’s through sport, coaching or youth development, I’m passionate about making a positive contribution to the community I’m part of."

At Playco, we’re all about staying active, having a go and supporting Kiwis doing great things — whether that’s on the playground or the international sporting stage!

🐦‍⬛ A little sound of Aotearoa at Project Play! 🌿

We’re proud to have supplied this interactive sound box as one of the sensory elements incorporated into the Project Play playground.

Located at ground level of the feature tower, tamariki can simply turn the wheel to hear the calls of some of Aotearoa’s native birds. 🐦

It’s a small feature that adds another layer of discovery to the playspace — encouraging children to listen, explore and connect with our unique natural environment.

We love seeing thoughtful play elements like this become part of a bigger playground experience. 💚

Playco Playgrounds is excited to be exhibiting at the **International Confederation of Principals’ Convention 2026**, happening **16–18 September at the NZ International Convention Centre in Auckland**.

We’re pretty proud to have played a part in bringing Gore Main School’s long-awaited new playground to life! 🛝✨

It’s always rewarding to see a project come together, but even better to see the finished playground doing exactly what it was made for — kids climbing, playing, exploring and having a great time. And cooler to see many generations of kids growing up with our equipment!

A huge congratulations to Gore Main School and everyone involved in making this project happen. It’s been a pleasure supplying the playground, and we know it’ll be enjoyed by generations of Gore Main kids for many years to come.

What an awesome addition to the school and the wider Gore community! 💙👏

Gore Main School has been a pretty special part of our family over the years, with all three of our McHaffie girls going through there… and now the next generation of the family, the Gibsons, have started there too 🥰

So when the opportunity came up for McHaffie Building to get behind the school’s long awaited new playground, it was an easy YES from us!

Pretty cool to see it finally finished and, more importantly, full of kids enjoying it 🙌🏼

2026 marks a huge milestone for us — 40 years of Playco and four decades of helping shape play across Aotearoa New Zealand. 🇳🇿

From humble beginnings as a one-man, family-owned business in 1986, Playco has grown into one of New Zealand’s leading commercial playground manufacturers — while remaining proudly family owned and operated across two generations.

A lot has changed in 40 years, but our commitment to quality, great service and creating places where Kiwi kids can play remains the same.

And we’re celebrating with you! As we head into the International Principals Conference NZPF 2026, we’ll be giving back to the schools and customers who have been part of our journey.
