So it's been a little time between knits, but I've been busy! Last Monday, I installed two trees at Starship Hospital to spread a little joy. Thanks to Kate for keeping me company! If you see them tag a photo :)

New install this morning in 3 degrees! Been meaning to install this one since the beginning of the year but with the Rugby World Cup starting tomorrow, there's no time like the present! Figure it might not be there for long seeing it's location but was fun to do and go back to some crazy colour combos. If you see it, take a picture.

It's been a little while since my last install but daylight savings is less than 2 weeks away and it's time to get back out there.

I've been meaning to find a new home for the Walking Boy socks and since the Tahaki Reserve tree was stolen at the same time as the wandering sock, this seemed the best place.

So darned and combined I installed them at Tahaki and got surprised by an old friend while doing so. Should out to for the chats!

UPDATE: unfortunately this one disappeared about 2 weeks after install :(

It's really hard doing morning installs when you don't work from home any more and it's freezing and dark at 5am haha. Will give it another whirl this Weds, here's hoping the weather is a bit better than last time.

(and yes I know I could do them on a weekend but who gets up early on those!)

Install fail. It wasn't like this when I left the house lol. Maybe another day

A bit of fixing, a bit of finishing and a new one underway. Bit behind on my installation thanks to getting myself a hand injury after a very fun night out oops. But June is looking like there are going to be lots of pops of color coming

These socks just keep on walking

University of Auckland alumna Jo McDonald Ho**er took up knitting during lockdown to ease anxiety and have something to do while watching “terrible reality shows.” Since then, her work has been showcased all around Tāmaki Makaurau including on the legs of the iconic Boy Walking sculpture at Pot...

Have had a bit of a wrist break but shouldn't be too much longer now! This one might end up a local landmark haha

Well it's a wrap! What an awesome experience and thanks for all the love! They've fared well over the last 10 days, extra credit to the OG remaining sock, They've had a lot of love and unfortunately a little bit of hate. But it just highlights the importance of Pride month, there is still work to do!

Thank you to Ronnie van Hout & family and Auckland Public Art for letting me borrow their boy!

The socks are now snuggled up in my office. A quick repair and I'll be finding a retirement spot in Mt Eden for them.

Shout-out to Sandringham AKL Community, Mount Albert Community and Mt Eden Community Noticeboard

XOXO Jo
