Only a few days left to check out BETWEEN US (Group Art Show 2026) BETWEEN US before it closes this Saturday.

Featuring work by 28 artists, the exhibition showcases a diverse mix of styles, mediums, and perspectives, with everything from bold statements to quieter moments of reflection.

A number of works have already found new homes, so if there’s a piece you’ve been thinking about, don’t leave it too late. Every artwork purchased supports both the artist and DEPOT’s ongoing work as a charitable arts organisation.

🎛️ In the studio with Harry from In the works and our lead engineer Nathaniel Selway

The team have been putting in serious work behind the scenes at DEPOT Sound on Clockwork, a 31-track concept album by musical theatre writers Sammy Hook and Harry Maxwell. It’s an ambitious, story-driven project bringing a full musical to life in sound, with a huge cast and a lot of moving parts.

From shaping vocals to helping build out the scale of the orchestration, Nate’s been right at the centre of the process and is now deep in the mixing stage, pulling everything together into a cohesive sound world. He’s even jumped in and lent his voice to the tenor chorus along the way. 🎶

We’re stoked to be part of this project and support the team as Clockwork continues to take shape.

A closer look at The water runs through by Avi Clark

"This artwork represents transformation, illustrating how a profound creative experience can erode perspectives and reshape my inner landscape. Just as a river carves new channels and changes the landscape, engaging with this painting left me changed by its currents. It embodies the sense of home, past and present."

Part of "Dim the lights so I can see in the dark", Avi's solo exhibition exploring what becomes visible when the noise of the outside world falls away and perception begins to shift.

Our Maker of the Month, Karen Rubado, brings a beautiful sensitivity to texture, colour and form through her woven work.

From intricate woven cards to larger artworks and handwoven textiles, each piece is thoughtfully constructed by hand, highlighting the subtle interplay of fibres and the quiet detail that makes weaving such a captivating practice. These works invite you to look a little closer and appreciate the craftsmanship in every thread.

Life Drawing: Quick Sketch with Mark Whippy
Thursday 11 June 2026, 5:30pm 🎨🖍️

Join us for a life drawing workshop exploring the gesture and form of the human figure. Participants will draw from live models with guided instruction from artist Mark Whippy, making this session accessible for all skill levels.

The workshop will take place in our gallery space, where you’ll be drawing surrounded by the Between Us exhibition. Mark is one of the exhibiting artists, so you’ll be working alongside his work and that of 27 other artists.

A glimpse into what’s coming this weekend. Raw, intimate, and deeply felt, Trauma in the Bones by Manuahi moves between painting and poetic text, holding stories often carried in silence.

Join us tomorrow afternoon, 2 - 4pm for the opening and artist talk. This is a powerful opportunity to hear directly from Manuahi and spend time with the work in their presence.

Trauma in the Bones by Manuahi brings visibility to lived experiences of q***r, neurodivergent, and gender-diverse communities, speaking from the body and from what is often left unspoken.

All proceeds from the exhibition are donated to Gender Minorities Aotearoa.

Opening this Friday ✨A first look inside the install for Dim the Lights so I Can See in the Dark by local Hauraki artist Avi Clark.

Avi’s work will be familiar to many of you from the store, and it’s exciting to see this new body of paintings come together across the gallery at 3 Vic Road. Layered, intuitive, and quietly compelling, these works invite you to slow down and spend time looking.

Join us for the opening this Friday 5 June, 6 – 7.30pm
