The next edition of our NZ Music Month series is a quote from one of our musicians Dean (guitar, bass, drums and percussion at Event Flair), who explains how experiencing music live in person is something a recorded playlist could never rival.

In person you hear passion, energy, emotion, and it’s an opportunity to be surrounded by others who are feeling the same.

We encourage all our followers to get out there and experience some live, New Zealand music this month, and support New Zealand musicians by including them at your next event.

We had a wonderful time being cheerleaders for the Brand USA event, lead by the incredible at the Cordis, Auckland.

Our team made a strong entrance with the shake of sparkly pom poms and performed short cheer sets around the welcome area, just like they do between sets on game days. They lined the door as guests entered the main exhibition hall and then performed an energetic routine to mark the transition between formalities and the expo beginning.

We loved adding our flair to this event to make a true USA experience!

We've seen a surge of enquiries for our incredible musicians lately - so excited to share this side of the business with more of the world! We thought we'd take a moment to remind our audience of what we do in this space and how we can add flair to your event with our talented music makers 🕺

Musicians are an incredible way to do what every party wants and needs - set the right *vibe* 😎 how guests feel when they are at an event is vital to how they experience and remember it, and choosing the right musicians can truly make all the difference.

We have a range of musical offerings at Event Flair including soloists, duos, trios right up to full bands. All of our musicians come with a very extensive repertoire and can custom make their set in advance to suit your theme or guests.

The team are super talented, one of our musicians just played in the opening band for The Darkness, another just recorded a full studio album, the list goes on. We've performed classical pieces at weddings, easy listening tunes at corporate events, and of course are experts at starting a dancefloor.

A short snippet of our Director Theresa training in Boston, USA! 🇺🇸😍💃 this location holds a special place in her heart, as she shares below:

“I went to visit my auntie and uncle at 14 years old by myself in Boston. My mum was worried sick, but I was well looked after by travel staff and made it to the beautiful city safe and sound.

I kept calling it America, but my uncle in his strong, Boston twang told me that I needed to call it “the States” rather than America, and that I did - with a subtle wink at him every time I said it. I had a fantastic time with my auntie, trying on beautiful prom dresses, and returned back to New Zealand with a suitcase full of sequins and dresses so extravagant I’d be lucky to wear them once (perhaps starting Event Flair was an unconscious excuse!)

In 2024, I got to visit the USA again but extended my trip to Canada to visit my brother in Toronto, to Boston to see my auntie (unfortunately my uncle had since passed) and then to the iconic New York. It was a life changing experience, and I’ll treasure it forever.

“The States” has always had a special place in my heart - my auntie has always been an unwaivering fan of my work, regularly sending me suggestions of what I should do next. To me, New York had always felt like a home for performers, where we were really understood.

This week, we performed for a USA tourism event, and it brought back so many beautiful memories of my time over there and how much I learnt.”

As we've said - our most incredible moments have come from clients that have asked us to elevate their event, concept or idea. Using a mix of traditional performances in cabaret style, more modern themes like slick and strong suits and hats, right up to beautiful body paint and wearable art designs, we provide high skill based performances that guests can't stop talking about 😍

An epic shot from a wedding party dance we taught, a special surprise from the groom to his bride!

This group was so much fun, they gave everything a go and ended up with a really entertaining result that everyone looked great and confident dancing 🕺
