Catch Jono and Micky on Wellington Access Radio from 5:20 today !!
From contemporary dance to solo theatre to brass band spectacle. there's so much variety on our stages in the next few weeks! Tune in to Wellington Access Radio 106.1FM from 5pm to hear what’s coming up.
First up just after 5.05pm, I’m joined by Footnote's Artistic Director Anita Hunziker and dancer Harrison Cook to discuss the Pōneke Festival of Contemporary Dance. The festival brings together dancers from across Aotearoa and beyond for a series of shows and events this week. Harrison is performing MATA MATA, a powerful solo work exploring whakapapa, memory, and reclamation through movement on Thursday at the Hannah Playhouse.
Then from around 5.20pm, writer and director Micky Delahunty and composer/performer Jono Weston are here to tell me about WOOOF!! A solo comedy with live music, WOOOF follows someone on a silent meditation retreat who’s very much not finding inner peace. WOOOF opens at BATS Theatre for three nights only from Thursday before heading to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Finally just after 5.35pm, director Letitia Garrett and Porirua City Brass’s Sally Garrett are in the studio ahead of Casino Royale, a lively brass band show with singers, dancers and actors at Linden Community Centre next week. Expect glamour, storytelling, and a night of big, bold entertainment inspired by the bright lights of Las Vegas.
