Suzuka, a track that requires commitment.
We qualified P9 in the SYNQ Lab Porsche. A solid start, we keep our position and focus on maintaining speed and consistency, as Spoon and 130R requires commitment, as a error here can have you loose all the momentum.
We hold position and have a 2 x CPS to get through. My strategy was to go until I needed fuel, or the car ahead pitted, which I did on time with 3 laps of fuel in the tank. On our out lap, the Safety car came out, and i knew I had fuel in bank, so I pitted again for my 2nd CPS, which now had us sitting P2 on the restart. Restarts are always nerve-racking, but we kept cool and kept position.
With only 10mins to go, we had a gap to P3, comfortable in P2 and now just had to make it home.
P2 at Suzuka, a good result, a much needed good result.
