NZ Artist, original paintings, prints and notecards Art for me is a way of communicating. I am a New Zealand artist, self-taught. Commissions welcomed.

Mostly conversations with myself as I'm quite a recluse, hence often inspired by birdlife. still learning, based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. Since childhood colours and textures have given me energy and sparked my curiosity. I can literally get lost in a colour. I start all of my paintings simply, hand and finger painting, the theme then shows itself. Having experienced the dullness and vacancy

of prolonged depression, by which I was unable to paint or feel colour, I now make myself paint. Just like going for a walk is good for my body, painting and playing with colours is good for my mind. I haven't painted for almost a year! Finally picked up my paints and this detective guy came about. What is he investigating? I have missed painting so much!

When I painted this few weeks ago, I was unaware our one legged pigeon Hoppy had passed away. I found her body a few days later. I like to think maybe she was trying to tell me why she was missing through this art. Was an honour to have had Hoppy and her feed-me-and-my-friends-NOW bolshiness for 3 yrs. RIP Hoppy xo
