What a tough week for music in Aotearoa… All of us at Big Fan are gutted to hear about the closing of Flying Out and Neck Of The Woods , two absolute institutions of independent music in Tāmaki Makaurau. Adding these places to the list of venues, stores, and festivals that we’ve already lost in the last year makes it blatantly clear that something needs to change. They are the lifeblood of arts and culture, and without a sustainable ecosystem for all things local, things start to look pretty bleak. 💔

We know times are tough, but if you are able, take this as a sign to support local artists, venues, promoters, and businesses. And register to vote, it’s free and takes 2 minutes.

What a way to kick off our very first New Fans show!
A huge congratulations and thank you to our first time promoter Kate, who did an incredible job bringing the show together. As well as Sarah on the door, Annie behind the camera, and Jonah on lights. All gaining hands on experience as part of the New Fans series.

We’re looking for a Promoter to lead the next New Fans show this August at BIG FAN while gaining hands on experience in a paid role.

We’ve got a big week at Big Fan!

Rāapa/Wednesday: arielwose celebrates her debut EP release, ‘in their eyes’ with mia🕷️ and Emily Bateman on support!

Rāpare/Thursday: Lisa Crawley makes her triumphant return to Aotearoa celebrating her new single ‘Hurry Up and Wait’.

Rāmere/Friday: Ｅｘｉｔ Ｓｉｇｎ return to Big Fan with their new album ‘The Fallen’, in tow and SYNTHESIS cryingivy and lacqueredblack on support.

Rāhoroi/Saturday: These Four Walls are back to showcase some new tunes and a few of the old classics too. Joining them will be CRY WOLF and WØMAN

Rātapu/Sunday: Free show with The Giddies! Join us from 6:30pm. No need for tickets, just come on through.
