Hi all! It's been a while since my last post but been rather busy with aspects of the next sculpture symposium 2023. Expression of Interest will be sent out shortly with a limit of 20 sculptors. In the mean time, I have had to lessen the amount of sculptures to exhibit at Aotearoa Art Fair 16th-20th November 2022 at "The Cloud" Unfortunately I won't have enough time to transport, set up and place all the sculptures in the one day prior to the opening so have chosen 4 that will fit on my trailer and can place at the entrance. Dave Taylor - Piwakawaka, Tai Meuli - "Crab-claw Sail", Logan Shipgood - "Moa Hunter". These will be exhibited alongside Fred Graham's work at the entrance of Art Fair 2022. Nathan Hull's Copper and Steel sculpture - "Tuatara" will be exhibited out the back section with other large sculptures. If the above artists would not want their sculpture exhibited, please let me know asap as write ups and promotional material along with artist bio, sculpture pics, etc are being published in Art Fair Booklets and online shortly. And I will swap sculpture out for another.

Taranaki artist Tai Meuli believes his brother’s spirit watched over and helped guide him while he completed a sculpture in his vision representing unity.

Kia ora tatou katoa, Well it's been 9 months since the Symposium finished and we are going to start gearing up for the next one for 2023 in the new year 2022. Now that I know that I have a solid and reliable team together with more coming onboard for the next one.
As the artists are well aware the contracts for sculptures created onsite in 2021 ended 3 months ago. Unlike other symposiums however, there is no time limit to collect your sculpture after this time but you can do so whenever you please when I am back in Auckland by 10 January. But please give me ample notice of collection so I know I will be at the workshop to help and to inform Marae security and I'm not working away. I am away on Holiday at the mo after having an exhaustive time in the workshop since the close of the Symposium and unfortunately the last lockdown cancelled out a few sales I had in the pipeline. But have recently as Friday gone, been offered a few other alternatives regarding the sales of some of the remaining sculptures, now with lockdown kind of open.
One being an exhibition in the heart of the viaduct till sculpture is sold AND a space in the next Auckland Art Fair 2022 in March. If your sculpture that is still at the Marae is chosen for either venue, I will contact the individual artists for their approval as different contracts will have to be drawn up and all information relayed to the sculptor prior to instalment. Will keep all informed when I am back from Holiday, some I may see on my travels and Wish everyone a Very Merry Xmas and a prosperous New Year.
