✨ Meet the choir! ✨

We are very excited to officially introduce you to our very talented pianist for The Expected Season, Sofia Onishko🎶

Having graduated from the University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Music (Piano) in 2021, Sofia Onishko has enjoyed performing as both a collaborative and solo pianist.

Her interest in the choral art has allowed her to work with community and school choirs in Auckland, Hamilton, Christchurch and Kaitaia. Sofia had the privilege of playing for Rollo Dilworth’s presentations at the 2023 NZCF Choral Connect, as well as a workshop led by Tuilagi Dr. Igelese Ete.

As a soloist, Sofia was one of 3 pianists involved in the LECT Steinway Spirio Record Composition Competition, playing new compositions to launch the Spirio piano in Auckland in 2020, as well as taking part in the University of Auckland's The Love Project - a collaboration with SOUNZ to record new works, in 2022. A highlight of recent years was being one of the pianists for Undergrand at the Auckland Arts Festival 2024.

Currently she is the collaborative pianist for choirs at Westlake Girls’ High School, Epsom Girls' Grammar School, Ficino School, the NZ Children’s Choral Academy, and sings in Auckland Chamber Choir. Outside of performance, Sofia is passionate about education, regularly working with student musicians on their performance exams, and mentoring student pianists for the NZCF Big Sing festival.

✨ Meet the choir! ✨

Cameron Price-Cunliffe is another new addition to our ensemble, joining our basses🎶

Cam is an undergraduate student studying classical performance voice and commerce (economics & management). He began his musical journey at a young age, starting with the trombone and drums until deciding that singing in choirs was "much more fun" during high school. Recently, he’s been involved with a number of both national and regional choirs, and is super excited to be welcomed to the NVE whānau!
