In Avondale for over 35 years, Haven Avondale is a community facing charitable organisation who has created a literal haven for local businesses and community groups, including I Love Avondale.

Haven’s building houses our Kai Avondale hub: they have generously gifted space for us to run our social supermarket Free Guys, as well as being the pick up place for our Kai Avondale x foodtogether produce boxes (order by midday Tuesday, collect on Thursday!).

Located at 1855 Great North Rd, they are hard to miss with a beautiful mural of a hibiscus by Eva Fuemana and Ol'Mate Avondale, the little yellow caravan out the front. There is a Justice of the Peace on-site from Monday - Wednesday and different sized spaces accommodating up to 50 people available for hire.

I’m back! And here to share what I’ve been up to! Last month I travelled to Dubai for their World Expo. I was 1 on a team of 5 artists selected to collaborate on this huge, beautiful piece. I learned so much throughout the process and am so excited to apply it to my work for the next 100 years. So grateful for this experience. Will post more shots of progress and ofc the days off 🤝😁

Hey everyone! Update on our opening: a success!!!! Big thanks to all the amazing young artists, curators and people keeping the cogs turning behind the scenes, feeding us and looking after us throughout this very long process (thank u corona virus) I appreciate it all 💕 if you guys find time, please go visit Te Uru to see some amazing work from young POC artists 💕
