Almost two years after ÉMILIE premiered at Auckland’s Q Theatre, it was brought up during this RNZ interview with Jesse Mulligan RNZ Afternoons and Peau Halapua. Thank you for the kind words Jesse and yes, ÉMILIE will be back!

Listen to the interview here: rnz.co.nz/national/programmes/afternoons/audio/2018990996/bookmarks-with-peau-halapua (the show is discussed around the 15 min mark but the whole interview is worth a listen).

"As a result the Covid years have seen many projects created in near-isolation or in small-group contexts... So when a Covid-period piece that is intelligent, mature and authentic pops up reeking of class it is to be prized. And when it does so with vigour and a multi-textured vitality that deftly touches actual events and real people, it is like a breath of fresh air. Émilie is one of those shows."

"ÉMILIE is an intriguing and beguiling play that unfolds its story in a gentle and tender way. Rich in humour and with a social message, this piece of theatre is beautifully written with compelling performances and charming design touches, and thus, it simply shines."
