Workshop Announcement 🎤🎵🎧

Auckland Artists Network is proud to present our next workshop, Vocal Technique with Becks Wright! Becks is outstanding and we can’t wait to have her join us again after her first workshop being such a success. Participants will prepare 16-32 bars of a song of their choice to bring along and Becks will work with participants, presenting insight in navigating vocal choices and techniques through song. Even if you don’t sing, there is bound to be plenty of valuable vocal knowledge to take away from this event!

Where: TAPAC, 100 Motions Road, Western Springs
When: Monday 10th June, 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Cost: $50 ($45 for current Equity members)

Our next workshop is with the amazing Russell Dixon!

Russell is a highly skilled practitioner of Musical Theatre and is often engaged as both a director and/or performer. Russell has been on the West End as Mr. Lyons in Blood Brothers and as Alberto Beddini in Top Hat. He has also been in several UK and International tours alongside numerous NZ productions spanning the last 36 years. Check out Russell’s full biography on our website!

Come and join his workshop, Auditioning for Musical Theatre on Monday 22nd April from 7.30pm - 9.30pm at TAPAC where Russell will share his expertise, helping you prepare for your next audition!

Our next workshop, Broadway Dance Workshop with Thea Erichsen

Thea Erichsen is a versatile and accomplished performer whose career has taken her across the globe!
Most recently cast in Broadway’s Beetlejuice the musical on board the newest Norwegian cruise line - touring Europe, Mediterranean and the Caribbean!
Originally from New Zealand, Thea has been seen in professional theatre regionally, nationally and internationally with her career now launching in New York! Other notable credits include: Broadway dreams New York showcases(NYC), recent graduate of Broadway Dance Centres Professional Semester (NYC), performance apprentice Broadway dreams US tour (USA 2022), We Will Rock You: the musical (Bruce mason AKL), and a number of national NZ performing accolades and awards. Thea is passionate about broadening kiwi dancer’s perspective on the industry + extending artists as true triple threat performers!

The workshop is open to artists 16+, the class will be taught at an intermediate/advanced level - however, Thea welcomes all skill levels and is experienced in working with varied skillsets.

Announcing our next workshop, Acting Through Song with Cherie Moore!

Cherie is a singer, actor, vocal coach, director, and producer. She is the Head of Voice at The Actors’ Program, a Voice Lecturer at UNITEC, and has a private studio where she teaches singers and actors. She regularly vocal coaches plays as well as shows with music, directs plays and musicals, and can be found singing at venues around the city. Cherie is known as a songstress and storyteller who creates a spellbinding atmosphere that transports audiences. She has won awards as a performer and director in NZ and internationally, and is passionate about mentoring up and coming performers. Cherie is on the board of Equity NZ - the union working to make performers' lives better. She also helps develop work and curate artists for performances, and is certified in Vocal Health First Aid.
Performance credits include; Next To Normal (The Court Theatre), Wicked (SkyCity), The Trojan War (NZ Tour), Valerie (NZ and International tour), Sweet Tooth (Netflix), Birdland (Q Theatre), Unleashed (Civic Winter Garden), The Space Between (Auckland Town Hall), Twelfth Night (Fortune Theatre), Into The Woods (Fortune Theatre), The Tempest (Pop Up Globe), The Last Five Years (Herald Theatre), Verbatim (North Island Tour), and Shortland Street.

This is for all performers wanting to work on their acting techniques through vocal performance. Participants should have a song in mind with them and 16 years or older.
The fee for the workshop is $45.
