My love affair with my local area continues... 🥰

Last week we finished this mural for Auckland Botanic Gardens in Manurewa.

This place holds a special place in my heart. I grew up in Manurewa, still live there now and visited the gardens as a child, then many times again with my own children or sometimes when I've just needed somewhere beautiful to walk or just get away from it all.

So I've wanted to create something here for a very long time.

That dream is now realised. ❤️

If you're in town, go visit. Check out the children's space and our mural, grab lunch or a coffee, then head outside and enjoy the beautiful gardens and one of my favourite places on the earth. 🌿

Beautiful way to celebrate Mako & Matariki together. 🌟

Tamariki, whānau and the wider community came together to create art, share stories, sing waiata and enjoy some delicious kai.

Proud of our Learning at the Point Kindergarten tamariki for their beautiful decorations, wonderful waiata, cookies, and for helping to bring our new Under the Sea mural to life.

I love that we get to bring these events to life!

Ngā mihi nui to Pandora Hawke, Stephen Rule, Hera Pahina, Dena Jacob, Grace Green and especially Plaxy and Nats from Point Chevalier Community Centre for supporting us + everyone who joined us and helped to make the evening so amazing! 💙

Yesterday whaanau chose and coloured their favourite pollinator designs.

Tamariki also drew their own flowers and trees bringing art to life with us.

These beautiful pollinators were imagined by tamariki from one of our community Mahinga Kai events 🌿🐞🦋

The future goal is that one day these beautiful designs will be used as inspiration for a mural on the wall at the Puhinui Reserve at Papatoetoe Glass.
