Being a feminist is not about hating men. It’s about understanding power. When most political, military and economic power has historically been held by men, the world inevitably reflects those priorities: domination over cooperation, control over care, power over accountability.

Look around.

Wars waged for territory and ego.
Children exploited in systems protected by wealth and influence.
Human trafficking networks operating in the shadows of global economies.
Survivors dismissed while powerful men close ranks.

And then people ask why feminism still exists.

To be a feminist is to refuse the idea that exploitation is inevitable. We need more powerful wahine, right now because the systems built without us are breaking the world.

Feminism isn’t the problem.
It’s the alarm.

And if that alarm makes people uncomfortable… good. 🔥

I haven’t been performing much lately.
Life has been stretching me in other directions and, if I’m honest, it’s been a tender season.

Leveling up is an amazing feeling and I embrace it with so much gratitude, but it comes with a price. More responsibility. Higher-level problem solving. Increased stress. And becoming a mirror for others in ways you don’t always expect.

Self-compassion and it has been a huge part of navigating it all. I’ve been prioritising rest, slowing down where I can, and creating space for others to expand. That feels like my gift to my community right now.

But the artist, has been feeling that itch — the need to channel everything I’ve gone through. And it’s time to let it out through the body.

I’m pumped to collaborate with new people and be on stage again 😊

It’s that time of year, and is coming in hawt ❤️‍🔥

This was my very first festival in Aotearoa, and I feel genuinely honoured to now be stepping into the role of Performance Liaison / Creative Producer for its 10th anniversary. Watching this team grow into a powerful collab has been a pretty special journey to witness from the inside.

My role is about advocating for performers, from first-timers to seasoned pros — and helping create spaces where people can try things, take risks, shine, and make magic. That’s what tickles my soul lately, so if you see me performing a little less, it’s because I’m creating in a different way now, on a broader scale 🤍

Performers are what turn festivals into living, breathing worlds. They bring the heart, the movement, the interactions people remember. They deserve space and visibility that reflects their talent, courage, and years of dedication to their craft. I’m proud to stand alongside them, and I hope you take time to step into the worlds they’ve built.

Big ups to the performance artists, dancers, athletes, circus performers, roving characters, and everyone who supports this world, we are the heartbeat of the festival.

December feels like a deep exhale 🫀💫

I’m choosing to focus on what I am in control of — my boundaries, my energy, my progress. I’m paying attention to the little things that stir old wounds, to understand myself better. And I’m learning to observe the people who genuinely celebrate my growth, not the version of me that’s convenient for them.

Here’s to a end of the year and soft endings, gentle self-reflection, walking into 2026 supported, focused and loved 🥰

What. A. Year.

I’ve crossed paths with so many incredibly talented humans, creating experiences that didn’t exist before. Beautiful memories of connection, chaos and magic.

It hasn’t all been glitz and sparkle. There’s show blues, that bring lonely moments after the curtain closes and adrenaline fades. Times I’ve doubted myself, or had to learn the hard way how to balance friendship and work relationships, how to communicate better, how to stay organised enough to let creativity flow.

To everyone who’s believed in me, trusted my vision, and jumped into the unknown with pure faith — thank you. You’ve helped me turn very ambitious ideas and dreams into the physical realm. And to my closest people — thank you for being solid, generous, and grounding while I build this wild beast.

All of this while raising a small human who gets to see the behind the scenes up close — the rehearsals, the sound checks, the community’s heart. He’s growing up knowing that art it’s something you live. And I love that for him.

I’m knackered. I’m grateful. And I’m taking a short break to soak it all in, fill my cup, and come back fresh for next year.

Bring on the next chapter. 💫

I decided to try something different this time. I suspended balloons on stage to frame myself and tried to give them a little glow, like they might start thinking for themselves. Eventually, I handed them out to the ones wearing headphones — my quiet co-conspirators.

The plan was to lead everyone on a slightly confusing emotional experience. Cute, but also… not quite. Just enough to make people question what they were feeling and why.

I’ve been leaning more into art lately — the kind that doesn’t need explanation. I’m still experimenting, and some of the audience didn’t get it. Which, in a way, means it’s working.
