Today's windy Auckland weather is dealing to the kōwhai flowers!
Cool to think how these centre dangly bits in the flowers will then become seed pods, and will be knobbly and brown a month from now.

Scenes from a visit to Arataki Visitor Centre this morning to restock the mugs with my native bird drawings on them. Managed to catch a break between showers and take a stroll.

It's a lovely spot to visit, no matter what the weather is doing. Thanks for providing this awesome resource for both locals and visitors, Auckland Council.

One of my faves at the gallery cutlrrent exhibition is a pic of a tree trunk made entirely of names of native plants inked in cursive script. Very cool, whoever made it!
