The annual Glen Innes Te Ara Rama Matariki Light Trail turns Maybury Reserve into a magical landscape. Explore fairylight walkways drawing inspiration from the nine stars of Matariki to celebrate the harvest, give thanks for our kai, remember loved ones that passed since the last Matariki and make a special wish for the future.

An awesome opening last night by Ngāti Paoa for Te Ara Rama Matariki Light Trail.
A huge crowd came. Thank you.. Ruapotaka Marae sold out their fundraiser. Thanks for the support. E Tipu E Rea Health Services were busy as with their free whānau activities in GI Community Centre.

9pm Sat 18 July PAK'nSAVE Glen Innes Fireworks - Pau Ahi. Taniwha St closed from Line Rd to Maybury St 5.30pm to 10pm.
Whānau bring your beach chairs, blankies, PJs and set-up camp on Taniwha St for the fireworks display. Bring your own kai or buy from the kai trucks on site. www.matarikigi.co.nz

💡 Light Trail: 6.00pm–9.00pm

Experience a night where the stars come down to earth:
🐟 Join the glowing Kahawai Illuminated Light Parade – bring your own lantern and become part of the magic!
🐙 Meet Te Wheke Harikoa – The Happy Octopus
✨ Wander through the Tapuapua Pools of Light, Matariki archways, labyrinth and glowing stars of Matariki
🎶 Enjoy live entertainment on the Te Oro stage, DJ Māori beats and interactive family fun.

🎆 Saturday night ends with a spectacular fireworks finale at 9.00pm!
