Planning the party
There are many different options as to how you mix face painting, games, balloon modelling, the show, and of course the party tea and this is something you can be very much or very little involved in the planning of, as you please.
Normally a party is two hours long so I start with a bit of meet and greet with the kids. I like to begin with face painting as this suits well if children arrive in instalments. I can paint full faces or smaller designs depending on the number of children. The children can choose from my book of face painting examples or simply ask for something they would like.
After the face painting comes the show which is about 30 minutes long consisting of fun packed tricks and illusions which involve the children. I normally finish with plate spinning which the children love. This offers a fantastic photo opportunity.
Once the show is over its time for food and during the food I like to make each child a balloon model of their choice and generally have fun with the children while they eat. Then they all gather for the cake so it's time to round everyone up in hearty voice.
After the food I organise party games including Pin the Tail on Bullseye, Pass the Parcel, Musical Statues, Bean Bag Games, Blind Fold Dog Drawing, Treasure Hunt, Who's Missing? and more... If time permits I like to finish with a bit of story telling.
Each party is unique and there are many many variables but I like to think that all my parties are very special and the children all have lots and lots of fun and go home thoroughly entertained, whilst the birthday child will have had a party they will remember for a long long time.
You can choose a two hour party or a one hour show!
The Show
The show always a consists of a series of dazzling tricks and illusions.
I normally start with the appearing and disappearing handkerchief, it is a bit of a classic, then there's the Extraordinary Hypnotic Rope, a bit of a stunner. Then there's the appearing gigantic straw from a hat! Is this possible?
Not many people expect me to be able to do spectacular Mind Reading but I can predict the favourite film, fruit and game of anyone in the room... now that is extraordinary.
The little ones love my visit to the Zoo, where Cheeky the Monkey keeps appearing and disappearing much to the children's amazement.
Where space permits I love to throw in my Hula Hoop routine and I love to spoil the birthday child with my top secret extra special balloon model.
My amazing Magic Bag can change all sorts of things into other things, it really has to be seen to be believed as has my magic cloth which changes from fabric to fabric in a whim. My Squeaker always delights, the children are amazed to find they have a squeaky nose! Plate Spinning is often how I end the show..a great photo opportunity.
All in all the show is tailored to the size and age of the children so it can vary in style and length but it is always guaranteed to entertain and amaze all who see it. I can either do a one hour show or a two hour party which also includes party games and face painting.
About Me
My name is Jennifer Faul and I am from New Zealand although I have lived in London since 1987 so am very much a Londoner now. I am a qualified primary school teacher but when I met a friend who is a professional Magician I decided to enter the world of children's entertainment.
I have always been a face painter and have face painted at events of all types for many years.
I put many hours into learning the art of balloon modelling and developing my skills of juggling, plate spinning and hula hooping.
The handy thing about having a friend who is a professional magician is that he was able to assist me with basic props, hints, routines and encouragement for me to be able to do an extremely fun little magic show.
I adore dressing up and have loved the opportunity to arrive as a Princess from Frozen, Jessie from Toy Story, a pirate, Goldilocks and more.
The games and story telling I’m well versed in as a qualified primary school teacher and I love nothing better than to gather up the children for games of all sorts.
I also work as a teacher in a wonderful school & nursery. I have always enjoyed working with children and bringing joy and fun to their lives.

Hi Jenny, just wanted to say a big thank you for all your hard work at
the party last weekend. Maddie and Wilf are still talking about it -
especially the bit where you said you ate tissues for breakfast, which
has clearly made a big impact on them! We thought you were really

Thank you so much for entertaining at Paula's party last week. She was so excited that 'Jessie' from Toy Story would be coming to her party! You were so believable that she honestly believed you were Jessie. Arranging a call from Woody to wish her a happy birthday really made her day. The face painting was brilliant as was the balloon modelling! The magic show was also great and Paula has been trying to copy your tricks ever since. The grown ups also enjoyed the party! Sallie.

I just wanted to drop you a note to express my thanks for your part in our Christmas Party last week. Your balloon modelling was a real hit and fitted in well with the other entertainment we organised. The boys especially enjoyed the swords you made and it was great to have such an enjoyable toy that couldn't hurt anyone!!! My favourite was the monkey on a palm tree. B Scott.
