And that’s a wrap team!
Skate Camp Day 3 was full steam ahead right until the very end! We packed in even more lessons, plenty of skating, and a wonderful yoga session with Allie Salemink that had us feeling stretched, balanced, and (briefly!) relaxed. Of course, there was no rest for the wicked—our off-ice session soon reminded us that muscles we didn't even know existed could definitely make themselves known the next day! What an absolutely epic few days we've had, filled with hard work, laughs, and so many great memories. We even managed to convince Emmanuel to perform during our lunch break (what a good sport he is!) Now it's onto Otago Southlands this weekend, where we can't wait to cheer Emmanuel on as he takes to the ice for not one, but two performances. How incredibly lucky are we! If your around he will be performing approx 12pm each day, we may never see another skater of this calibre on our ice again (unless Jo gets her way 🤣 and we convince another epic skater or maybe even Emmanuel to come down this way for another camp)!

A huge Thank you to the club parents and skaters for their fundraising efforts, to a donation we received and to everyone who helped make this happen, and of course Emmanuel for coming all this way to coach and inspire us! This was a week for the memory books

Skate Camp Day 2 started with an electric atmosphere as private lessons got underway before camp officially began.

The day was packed with more on-ice skills training, an off-ice strength and flexibility session with Hayley and Tahlia from Gore, and an informative presentation from officials Melissa and Rachel. After more off-ice activities, everyone enjoyed a well-earned swim before some skaters returned to the rink for extra private lessons.

A real highlight of the day was sharing the ice with Emmanuel. Watching him skate up close was truly awe-inspiring—and we have to admit, it was a little hard to stay focused! And an experience our skaters won't forget anytime soon.

Another fantastic day of learning, hard work, and great memories.
