We are Himchuli (Child) Club, a social organization based in Sarangkot, Pokhara, Nepal. Motivated by the head-aching pace of social development in the society, we a group of around 15 children who were all under the age of 15, thought of contributing something for the society. This was just after one of the biggest festivals for Hindus, Tihar when different groups play Deusi & Bhailo (a cultural p
resentation performed through songs and dance, played in houses in the locality) when we too had collected about 7000 rupees from Deusi-Bhailo. Just like other years, we too had planned to go for the picnic from the money we had collected, but an idea of forming a club and doing several activities throughout the year hence saving that money we collected for a greater good struck our mind. We then had to go through a very rigorous discussion for several days whether or not to go for Picnic and if the decision to form a club would be a wise one for we were all thought to be small to think for social welfare. However, the better happened. We just spent a small portion of the sum for a refreshment and then decided to march forward for social welfare. Then the group, with the advice and support from the seniors we were able to be established as a club in the community. Since then, we have been doing several programs in the community. We have realized the increasing rate of the potent of the programs we have done so far. We are happy, fueled and enthusiastic about the programs to be conducted in the near future.
