It was a true pleasure to welcome Mr. Qiao Guojin today. His visit was marked by a thoughtful gesture—a beautifully presented catalog—and words of genuine appreciation for our continued dedication to promoting the finest Newa art, upholding our founder’s enduring vision.

A close friend of the family, as well as a distinguished art collector and passionate advocate of Newa art in Beijing, his presence carries both warmth and shared purpose. We look forward to renewing our collaboration and continuing this meaningful journey together in the near future.

If the Kathmandu Valley is a living museum, the chaitya is its quiet heartbeat—where the divine meets the daily life of Newa courtyards. Beyond the grand stupas of Swayambhunath Stupa and Boudhanath Stupa lie thousands of humble stone chaityas scattered through Bahals, transforming ordinary spaces into sacred ones. Discover how this living tradition—shaped by the skilled hands of Newa artisans—continues to turn devotion into miniature masterpieces at the Purna Museum of Newa Art.

This exhibition pays homage to the rare and refined tradition of Newari miniature art—works crafted with ritual discipline, spiritual intent, and extraordinary precision. In the Kathmandu Valley, mastery of miniature painting and sculpture was reserved for the most skilled hands, where every line, gesture, and pigment carried sacred meaning. These were not decorative objects, but intimate vessels of prayer, meditation, and offering.

Today, as traditional patronage declines and fewer artists continue this demanding practice, such works become ever more precious. They are not only artistic achievements, but living testaments to faith, craftsmanship, and cultural memory.

Join us in honoring—and preserving—what must not be lost.
