Session ninth in Frames. Grateful to have Namrata K.C. Ma’am with us at Stories in Motion, where she shared her artistic journey and thoughtful reflections on dance with the next generation.

27/07/2026

Our guest professional Namrata K.C. ma’am shared valuable insights on the role of parents and teachers as motivators in a child’s journey. She emphasized that their responsibility is not to decide a child’s destiny or force them onto a particular path, but to guide, encourage, and support them. By helping children recognize possibilities, understand upcoming challenges, and make informed choices, parents and teachers can empower them to grow with confidence while discovering their own path.

Words of wisdom from our guest professional, Namrata KC ma’am.
Dance is a journey of patience and trust. Keep your passion alive, embrace the process, and learn to truly listen to your teacher, the music, your body, and your inner voice.

For our guest dance professional, Sujata Baral Ma’am, dance is more than movement…it is a form of worship, a source of peace, fulfillment, and a way of life.

She also reflects on the challenges of dance in Nepal, emphasizing the need for greater awareness and recognition. At the same time, she highlights the vast scope of the field, reminding aspiring dancers that true growth comes from learning from the very roots. With strong foundations, dance offers diverse career paths as a researcher, performer, teacher, choreographer, and much more.

Tips for Dance Beginners by Our Guest Dance Professional of Session Eight, Sujata Baral Ma’am

Sujata Baral Ma’am emphasized that the foundation of learning dance lies in regular practice, or riyaz, along with patience and dedication. She shared that consistent practice is the key to growth as a dancer.

She also highlighted the importance of having a genuine desire to learn. Without curiosity and a clear intention, repeating the same movements every day can become discouraging, and one may lose motivation.

According to her, a teacher is always willing to share knowledge, guidance, and experience. A teacher will give so much to the student, but the student must have the openness and readiness to receive it. When there is sincerity, commitment, and a willingness to learn, true growth in dance becomes possible.

Session Seven in frames. Thank you Rabi Rana Magar Sir for being part of Stories in Motion and inspiring young minds through your journey.

The scope of dance in Nepal is shaped by both challenges and opportunities. As our seventh guest professional, Rabi Rana Magar Sir, shares, dance has the potential to reach every corner of the country through collaboration. By working with different levels of government, educational institutions, organizations such as PABSON, cultural groups, and other community organizations, we can create more opportunities and make dance accessible to people across Nepal. Turning this vision into reality is challenging, but it is equally an opportunity to strengthen the future of dance in the country.
