Callijatra

Callijatra Callijatra Foundation is a youth group from Nepal promoting Nepal Scripts, script, and conducting Calligraphy Workshops.

We are also conducting online Nepalbhasa (Newar Language) classes and creating educational materials. Callijatra is a youth team of Calligraphers from Nepal dedicated to promoting and popularizing Nepal scripts such as the Ranjana script, Nepal Lipi, Devanagari, Bhujinmol lipi and Nepalbhasa. The term "Jatra" means "festival" in Nepali, making "Callijatra" a celebration of calligraphy. Callijatra

has been organizing workshops and uses various forms of communication like mobile apps, video tutorials, live calligraphy, and exhibits to spread awareness about Ranjana script and Nepal Lipi. The dynamic team consists of calligraphers, artists, script experts, designers, teachers, developers, and media professionals who share a love for language, type, typography, and calligraphy. The main goal is to teach and encourage the use of traditional scripts, and they're also working on teaching the Nepalbhasa language. Callijatra is officially registered as “Callijatra Foundation” with a principal objective to continue the workshops and explore Nepali culture, heritage, language, and script teaching avenues, starting with Nepal Bhasa and Nepal scripts.
