Steel is the most used construction material around the world for industrial & residential buildings, high-rise towers, bridges and other structures. It competes with reinforced concrete in the world because of its many favorable characteristics including high strength, high stiffness, ductility and toughness, speed of er****on, competitive cost, etc. Thus understanding steel and learning how to design steel structures will help to prepare for the future industry.
This course will provide all the basic knowledge on steel structures, its advantages and will teach on how to design steel components like beams, columns and slabs. We shall also discuss ongoing issues, challenges & present practice while designing residential & commercial steel building with real time case study.
