Jumping Frog is a mask, puppet and musical play, written and directed by Sajan Thapa Magar. Show dates : Bhadau 6 A jumping frog is symbolised as the heart of the human body.

Jumping Frog is not a written play but an improvised attempt of actors and musicians. The play starts with the attempt of a character who is constructing a human body out of reusable waste. As the character tries to add a heart, which he cannot find, he goes into the world of imagination. The play continues along with a love story, relationship with human beings, the affect of modernisation on ani

mals, plants etc. Verbal dialogues are not used instead various Nepalese local, Western music and dance is used to communicate the story to the audience. The heart is used as a metaphor of life to those beings that cannot speak and demand a better life along side humans. This is the first time that puppets are used in a play in Nepal. The play is designed to give out a message on ecosystem, sustainable development and animal rights.
