Sita Khadka is a 43 years old single mother from Dhadhing who started her Pani puri business in February of 2020. She lives with her daughter in Chandragiri- Naikap.

“ My husband left me for another woman in January of 2020. I used to be a housewife so I was completely dependent on my husband before. He left with no support for me and my daughter. Since then, I had to look for an alternative source of income to support my family of two. So, I bought this cart for15000 rs and started selling Panipuri, Chatpate and other snacks on the roadside near my house. The covid lockdown began as soon as I started my business in February 2020 leaving us with no option but to empty our rented room and go back to our village. This pandemic has been really hard for us. With a huge investment as such, I wasn’t able to make money. Now that the covid situation has improved. I am quite hopeful. I would like to request everyone to visit my cart. I make really good panipuri.”

🆘️ we need your help!!!! 🆘️🆘️

Let's solve Sita didi's problem together. You don't have to be a designer or go to design school in order to be able to conceptualize better solutions.

If you have an idea, comment below. How can we solve Sita didi's problem?

Sita Sharma is a 49 years old tea seller from Basantapur who carries two thermoses every day from 5 am to 7 pm. Hard-working Sita has never taken a break from her job and sells her tea in various other places such as New Road, Bus Park, Ratnapark, Ason. " I feel happy that I earn for my living and I don't have to depend on other people to help me," says Sita who is the breadwinner of her family. She sells black tea, milk tea, and bread. Her target customers are street vendors who generally drink tea on credit. She goes around the city 4 times a day.

A few days ago, she was so exhausted that she fell down and broke both of her thermoses. Nearby marwadi shop owners were so kind to her that they helped her buy a new thermos. she says that carrying a thermos filled with tea is really difficult for her. Both of her hands are always occupied with two thermoses and her bag is filled with disposable cups and bread.

Let's do this guys!!!!! Comment down below your solutions

🚨🚨🚨Design flaws alert. 🚨🚨🚨

Failure is an inevitable part of design process. Here we are at sano pasal making mistakes and learning from them and reiterating the design. This is a post about our experience.

Our mistake:
We installed glass and didnt consider the possibility of breakages. And here we are, just the next day of opening, due to some unfortunate circumstances, Resma bumbed her cart in her narrow alley in front of house and got her glass broken.

We were unable to fix it right then and resma fixed it using available resources such as sealer and an iron rod.

Our solution:
This design problem was an opportunity to DIY. We were unsure because we never worked with metal before but we had no other option but to do it ourselves. And that was a blessing in disguise.. Me and pranay drilled the metal for the first time, breaking a lot of drill bit in the process. But It was a great learning process for us and we loved it

We drilled screws on two consequent side of the frame so Resma can replace her glass anytime in future on her own. And well it worked like a charm.

We really think everyone should own a drilling machine so we don't have to rely on others for small issues like we did..believe me, its not that hard. Also we have decided to DIY more often. Do let us know if you want to DIY with us. We also added Resma ko sano pasal as the name of her shop.

On Feb 26, 4 pm Reshma took her thela to her regular spot in Sorakhutte. And the response she recieved was overwhelming. Everyone loved her shop and it became very evident that they missed her food as we took her thela for few days. She made a really good money that day and said that after Covid, it was the first time that she made good money by 10 pm without going to the main road.

Our team at Sano Pasal aims to work with more than 50 tiny shops by connecting engineers and artists with women led micro enterprises..

Alas! We did it! Early in the morning of 26th feb, at 7.30 am we loaded the thela from Bishnu workshop and brought it back to Resma.
Resma couldnt wait to take pictures with the thela..
