►Judesheetal(Maithil New Year):-The Maithil New Year, or 'Jude Sheetal', is not just a festival; it's a beautiful message about connecting deeply with our nature and culture.
The date of this festival in Mithila is determined based on 'Mesh Sankranti' and the first day of the 'Solar Month of Vaishakh', which is primarily based on the 'Tirhuta Panchang'. Since it is a solar calendar, according to the Gregorian calendar, this festival usually falls on the 14th or 15th of April (the beginning of the month of Vaishakh) every year.The festival of Satuani is celebrated a day before the Judash*tal festival, in which people offer new grains/barley sattu, gurr and tikola(small raw mango) to the gods and goddesses and family deity.After that, on this day people themselves celebrate by eating Sattu.The next day, the New Year is welcomed by celebrating the festival of Judasheetal.

💧 The Tradition of Blessings: Elders bless the younger ones by applying stale water (kept overnight) to their heads, wishing for 'coolness' (Sheetalta), happiness, and peace in life.
🌳 Nature Conservation: Water is sprinkled on trees, plants, and paths, expressing gratitude and love for nature during the scorching summer heat.
🍲 Traditional Flavors: The stove (Chulha) is kept cool today, and there is a unique tradition of eating delicious 'Bari-Bhaat' prepared a day prior. Along with this, Sattu and raw mangoes (Tikula) also hold special significance.
🌞 Welcoming Summer: This festival marks the onset of the summer season and symbolizes keeping the body and mind cool to protect against the heat.
