🎢 On-Ride POV: SpeedSnake FREE – Fort Fun 🇩🇪

A little piece of Vekoma history! 👀

SpeedSnake FREE is a Vekoma MK-1200 Whirlwind, one of Vekoma’s early compact looping coaster models. First introduced in the early 1980s, the Whirlwind packed a chain lift, a tight layout and two individual corkscrew inversions into just 350 metres of track.

This particular one has been at Fort Fun since 1981/82, originally operating as Wirbelwind, making it one of the park’s real old-school classics. And thankfully, it has received quite a bit of TLC over the years. 🔧

The track was reworked to remove some of its bumps, and in 2017 the ride got its current Sunkid Heege train with lap bars. The combination makes a surprisingly smooth ride for a 40+ year-old Whirlwind — while still retaining that unmistakable old-school Vekoma character. 🎢

Two corkscrews, a compact layout and a whole lot of coaster history. What's not to like? 😎

It's a bad year for US parks. First Fun Spot Atlanta and now Clementon Park. Let's hope this park finds a buyer that can give it the boost to flourish again.

As we close out our 2026 season, we want to sincerely thank our guests, Season Passholders, team members and community for being part of another summer at Clementon Park & Splash World.

After five memorable years, we are saddened to announce that we have made the difficult decision to close the park and plan to offer the park for sale.

It has been a privilege to care for a place that has meant so much to generations of families. We are hopeful that we will find a buyer who shares our love for Clementon Park and will carry its history and legacy forward.

Additional details regarding the sale will be shared as they become available.

Thank you for the memories, the support and five wonderful seasons. We are truly grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey.

🚨🎢 NEW COASTER ALERT! 🇧🇪

Big news from Bellewaerde Park!

The park has filed plans for a new rollercoaster in the India-themed area, and judging by the project description, it looks like we're getting an Intamin Hot Racer with two launches! 🔥

A compact coaster with a very interesting ride system, and now potentially coming to Belgium. 🇧🇪

We're definitely excited to see where this goes — especially once we get to see the plans and layout in more detail. 👀

🎢🦇 And the answer is… Crazy Bats!

This round's silhouette challenge featured Crazy Bats at Phantasialand 🇩🇪🦇

What was once known as Space Center and later Temple of the Nighthawk, this iconic indoor coaster has had quite a history. Today, it takes riders through the dark with the Crazy Bats along for the ride! 😄

🍸🖤 A Dirt Road Martini for Dolly

We've been a little quiet when it comes to cocktails lately — don't worry, the Cocktails will be back! 🍹

But with the passing of Dolly Parton, we just had to make an exception today.

The Dirt Road Martini was created by Dolly and her sister, and it's a surprisingly simple cocktail with one rather unusual ingredient:

🥃 60 ml Vodka
🫖 60 ml cold Black Tea
🥒 7.5 ml Giardiniera brine

Yes, you read that last one correctly. 😄

Giardiniera is an Italian pickled vegetable mix, often served as a side or salad. And for this cocktail, you simply use some of that leftover brine straight from the jar.

Add everything to a shaker with ice, shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. For the garnish, you can use some of the vegetables from the Giardiniera jar — or go for a big black Spanish olive. 🫒

Simple, unusual, and a fitting toast to the Queen of Country Music. ❤️

Enjoy — and drink responsibly. Never drink and drive.

🎢✅ And the answer is… Tiki-Waka!

This round's silhouette challenge featured Tiki-Waka at Walibi Belgium 🇧🇪🌴

A Gerstlauer Bobsled coaster with a surprisingly compact layout, plenty of twists and some fun changes of direction. Its distinctive track profile made it a pretty recognizable one once you knew what to look for! 👀
