Snaresund Galleri

I am an self-taught artist who lives and work on an island in the south coast of Norway. I work mainly with acrylic painting on canvas or paper, but i also love drawing with pastel, coal, pencil and ink. My motivs are both from nature and fantasy. Sometimes it is special places in my local surroundings that inspire me, and other times it is the doodles in my sketch book that develops into artwork. i also get directly inspired by colors i see or dream about that i "must paint" and this develops into a painting. I love to experiment with all kinds of objects and materials that i can use to make texture, pattern or marks on canvas or paper, and my goal must be to make something that communicates back to me and others. I have attended several short term art courses over a 30 year period, most recently at Nydalen Kunstskole in Oslo and Atelier Skogly in Arendal, close to my home. I also have certificates as a goldsmith and wooden boatbuilder.
