Poland has abolished its last remaining 'LGBT-free' zone, six years after around 100 municipalities in the country banned so-called 'LGBT ideology'.
Officials in the town of Łańcut last week voted to repeal the regulation, according to Polish news outlet TVP World.
The zones, which were introduced by the right-wing Law and Justice (P*S) government, saw local authorities pledge to hold back funding for organisations promoting equal rights, and discouraged tolerance of LGBTQ+ people in each respective area.
This sparked global outrage, including from the European Commission, which withheld funding from these regions on the grounds they were enforcing discriminatory policies.
Polish courts also ruled such resolutions were unconstitutional, and most of the 'LGBT-free zones' have since been repealed - with Łańcut being the last to do so.
