At the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, USA, “Man Bitten by a Snake” (1992–93) takes part of the museum’s permanent collection. The work was acquired following the museum’s 1997 exhibition Old Master Existentialism: Recent Paintings by Odd Nerdrum, held from February 8 to March 30, 1997.

Today, the painting remains part of the Frye Art Museum’s collection, where it continues to be presented as part of the museum’s exhibitions and gallery displays.

«Opening of the Prisons» (2026)

A monumental work by Odd Nerdrum, measuring 4 × 6 metres, «Opening of the Prisons» was begun in 2012 and is based on an earlier charcoal drawing from 1976.

More than a decade in the making, the painting now hangs to be admired from a distance in the Cathedral Room on the newly opened second floor of Nerdrum Museum.
