Hi guys! Tomorrow, Sunday 1st Dec, I will be at Edinburgh Printmakers Christmas Market selling prints, bookmarks, postcards and other stuff with my collages. It is the first one of the season for me, and I could not be happier! It's always so special to share thoughts and ideas with other fellow artists as well as with other lovely people that you meet there.

Can't wait to be there tomorrow for you, so don't forget to come by and have a chance to buy local this Christmas! đŸ‘đŸŒđŸŽ„

Visual haikus

A zine showing my own interpretation of how Japanese haiku poems have changed through time.

Its popularity spread to different countries and famous poets, like Ezra Pound or Federico GarcĂa Lorca, started writing haikus in other languages. Other writers did further experimentation changing their original structure, but always keeping their essence: simple compositions with complex ideas behind.

Chinese ink was used to maintain the essence of haikus, mixing it with different amounts of bleach and water to represent the creation and translation of haikus in other languages. Then, I cut the artworks into pieces and rearranged them to show poets' experimentation with the shape and composition of haiku poems.

You can see it as part of the exhibition 'Totems' at the new space of in Granton.
